Immediate Positive Change

Based On Science & Psychology

What is hypnosis?

In general terms, hypnosis is a state of extreme relaxation and concentration similar to "daydreaming". It is not witchcraft, voodoo, magic or evil, you are not in a "trance", and the hypnotist can not "control" you.

Can I be hypnotized?

If you have the desire, and the ability to concentrate and follow instructions, you can be hypnotized.

How does hypnosis work?

The unconscious mind protects us. It is responsible for all of the bodies functions, and is where all of our experiences, habits and memories are stored. This is where positive changes are made, while protecting us from negative changes. This state enables the hypnotist to work directly with the unconscious mind. That is why hypnosis is faster and less costly than psychotherapy (talk therapy).

What is it like to be hypnotized?

If you want to experience the feeling of being hypnotized, find a comfortable chair in a quit place with subdued light. Sit down and make yourself comfortable. Close your eyes and relax. Now imagine being more relaxed than you ever thought possible; That's it.

Can the hypnotist make me do things I don't want to do?

Never! You are always in total control. If you were given an instruction to do something objectionable you would immediately return to the fully conscious state or simply ignore the instruction.

Are SuperHypnosis practitioners qualified?

All SuperHypnosis practitioners are experienced hypnotherapists that have been certified by the American Board of Hypnotherapy, and must receive continuing education to remain with SuperHypnosis.

We embrace hypnosis based on modern science and psychology and no longer believe that the ABH represents these values, but rather the magic and mystical approach to hypnosis reminiscent of the 1400-1800's. It is for that reason that we have severed our relationship with the ABH.
